Our precious baby has arrived!
Maxwell Zackary Whitley
Born 3/12 at 11:47pm
9lbs, 7.5oz and 21″ — such a big boy :)
Maxwell is currently in the NICU for a couple of minor complications. I labored for over 30 hours before delivering Maxwell via c-section. Please keep both of us in your prayers.
We are so in love with Maxwell!!!! He’s so precious and we love his blonde wavy hair ;)
I can’t wait to share more updates as our family continues to rest and bond. xo

he is adorable! sending lots of love your way <3

He is precious indeed, and I’m so glad to hear he has arrived safely! I will confess to stalking your Twitter feed for updates. :)
Will be praying for you three during this time, for sure. As much as you know he’s in the best hands in the NICU, it’s hard to have your baby going through things like IV pokes and blood draws. I know from experience with my own little one! And you must be exhausted, and ecstatic, and sore… so yes, prayers indeed!
[Reply]
He is adorable!! I woke up last night and was very worried about you all but I left it in the Hands of the Almighty and He is faithful that promises! So glad to hear you are safe and so is little Max!!

Maggie! So very excited for you, beautiful momma! He is precious. Praying for ya’ll! When I had Chase (almost 4 years ago) we labored long and it ended with a c-section as well. I know that can sometimes be so difficult for a momma’s heart, and especially when they are in the NICU. Praying for you, for Zach and your new little Maxwell, lovely momma!!

Yay, he’s finally here! I will be having my 2nd baby next week so I have been following you closely thru your pregnancy on your blog. three years ago We waited until our son was born to find out what he was and he was 2 weeks overdue, 9 pounds 7 oz and 22″ long, delivered c section-
sounds like our birth stories were a lot alike. Best of luck to you, make sure you rest and enjoy every minute, they grow so fast!

wow, so glad everything went ok. i guess it was an emergency c-section? i had one for my daughter(who will be 5 in a month and a half). i was in labor all day, two days past my due date and i was in extreme pain. i got an epdiural to relax my body and with in ten minutes, i had to get an emergency c-section to get her out because of her heart rate dropping. so without even saying a word, i was wheeled into the OR. i had never had surgery in my life or been to a hospital, so i was terrified. my husband said i looked pale and was convulsing in fear. they prepped me and before i knew it i heard her screams. i cried when they brought her out, it was such a beautiful feeling to hear her for the first time. i was wheeled into the recovery room and my husband was back and forth from the recovery room to the nursery checking on both me and my daughter. he was such a blessing helping me stand up, walking me to the bathroom and bathing me while i was in extreme pain. it took me two months to fully recover. a year and a half ago i found out i was pregnant with our second child. my daughter was so excited, we included her in all the doctor’s visits and she was there when we found out we were having a boy. she was so happy she was getting a brother. my son was born April of last year and it was a month before my daughter’s fourth birthday. she told me all she wanted for her birthday was her baby brother. i had my son via scheduled c-section which was nicer and more relaxing because i knew what to expect. i was fully walking by two weeks. it was a faster healing process. now in two weeks he will be 1. i can’t believe how time flies. i will not have anymore kids because i am happy with two. i tied my tubes while they performed my final c-section. life is such a blessing with children. congrats on your beautiful boy. he is precious!
[Reply]
Congratulations on your blessing! He is so precious!
You’re both in my prayers. :)

belated congratulations!!! he is just precious!!!!

My first son, Gus, spent 18 days in NICU because he was a preemie. That is the BEST place, other than with you, for him to be. Congratulations. He is beautiful and if he is not home with you at the time of this post, I know he will be soon. Wishing you sleepy nights!

My son Sam was 9lbs 12oz and I had the same type of delivery! I labored for 28 hours before I finally begged for a C-section due to no progress. Everyone thought I wasn’t pushing hard enough, but when they yanked out that butterball turkey they knew why! Ha!
He’s precious- and will be SO much sturdier and healthier being a big boy. Sam never got sick like his smaller baby friends, and hit all milestones quicker too because of his size.
Congrats girl! You will LOVE having a boy. Sam will be 4 just as I deliver my girl :)

Congrats! He is adorable!

God Bless you all Maggie. I had an Emergency C Section with my first child, my daughter. She was also in the NICU. Medicine has come so far, and it’s so wonderful that Maxwell had the comprehensive care needed to insure his total health and bring him home quickly to his new home, and in the arms of his loving parents. He’s beautiful ! So happy for you both AND for grandmom too! I can’t wait for that time some day ! <3
